Africa is a land filled with adventure. And GAVA Adventures is the way to see it!

GAVA Adventures is the specialised youth travel branch of GAVA Explorations, an established safari company operating in Southern Africa and Tanzania. Georges Locher, who set up GAVA Adventures, used to be a schoolteacher (but don’t worry, he was one of the cool ones!) Now he combines his teaching and guiding experience to give you a safari packed with loads of adventure, informal study, cultural exchange and a whole lot of fun!

A team of qualified guides and instructors will show you an Africa you never knew existed – remote areas filled with amazing animals, weird plants and lot more. You’ll hear about everything from desert geology to night skies – and you’ll have so much fun you won’t even know you’re learning!

A good way to have a GAVA adventure is to do a two-week school group expedition designed for pupils and a teacher, covering environmental studies and conservation, ecology, animal identification and behaviour, plant studies, geography and astronomy (for example!). Or leave your teacher behind, grab a group of friends, and let us create an adventure especially for you. Each safari is totally exciting – and very safe.

GAVA Adventures' safaris travel through Namibia, which is a peaceful and extraordinarily beautiful country – and it has a healthy climate, good roads and a reliable telephone network (so you can get hold of mum and dad!).
On safari, some nights are spent in chalets; sometimes you sleep in spacious two-person dome tents that are high enough to stand in. You’ll be driven around in our spacious all terrain 4x4 vehicles that have a great view as roof hatches and windows can be removed.

And here’s the bit your parents will love: costs are low and include accommodation, food (except in restaurants), all activities and park fees. Not bad, huh?
